Thanks guys. I draw up these pictures quickly because I haven't enough time to paint at the mo, they help me get my history fix in the week. These silhouette pictures are done using the Lasso tool in Photoshop, then colouring in the shapes with Black. They are fun and quick to do and in many ways, more striking than a detailed pen picture.
Loving your ECW stuff Saxon Dog and will be using it to base my own regiments on, very Inspiring stuff.
What inspired this picture was the length of the Civil war pistols. I love them. Probably next to useless at range but they look so cool. I just had to draw a figure firing one.
Lovely picture: A black silhouette cutting the crimson sunset... very heroic and epic.
ReplyDeleteI prefer TYW or EYW to ECW but your artwork is remarkable.
Cheers!
Thanks Gonzo, you are a fantastic artist yourself, I love you figure work. You show a real passion for the era. Great stuff.
ReplyDeleteGreat images... makes me want to paint!
ReplyDeleteSuch a clean and striking image. Beautiful.
