while messing around with the brush bristles, I had the idea of making a wip from one of the thinner ones. It was easy to do by bending it around a pen. To my surprise, it stayed curled and could actually be manipulated into shape.
To help with the look I tried the cotton technique again for the handle. This time I used a finer cotton as I wanted it to look a little more detailed.
I'm pleased with the result and it really was so easy to do.
"Get moving you maggots!"
To make him look a little more important, I gave him a green stuff fur cloak. This will also make him look a little larger than the other Orcs too.
The left over putty from the cloak, I made into another Goblin helmet just for good measure.
Very cool, got me singing "Where there's a whip there's a way", from the Rankin-Bass animated return of the king.

Fantastic stuff! An orc v elf battle report would be awesome.
ReplyDeleteThe whip looks really convincing and made from a plastic bristle should be pretty sturdy.
ReplyDeleteVery nice…
ReplyDeleteIt’s nice to see someone encouraging the others to join in…
All the best. Aly
