Ultra Magnus
Another fantastic find for the War for Cybertron project. Ultra Magnus can now transform into his truck mode. I've said it before but this project just writes itself.
Update: Rockets are now painted and he now has a black wash to bring out the details.
I also painted some more blue onto the truck to make it more screen accurate.
Ready for action.

Basing day for the Horse
Roundhead horse plough their way across the muddy field towards the enemy.
The Royalist officer orders a charge, hopefully there are no rabbit warrens around.
The storm clouds break...
Parliamentarian trotters advance in an orderly formation, knee to knee.
Update: Here are the finished regiments of Horse.Gallopers pursue a unit of trotters.
Above are the two new Royalist regiments, rebased and flocked, ready for action.
Together, the random placing of galloping troopers looks good and definitely gives the impression of a charging regiment.
I do like my Royalists in helmets and buff coats, I must say.

Dismounted ECW Troopers
Recently, I have been toying with the idea of a dismounted trooper unit for Victory without Quarter. I've always loved the lobster pot helmet and the beautiful figures from Bloody miniatures sealed the deal for me.
I love the fact a Foundry figure fits into the line up with a height boost. The large head of the early Foundry figures matches perfectly.
To finish the look off, I worked out some horse bases too. These will be to the rear out of the way. The horse holders are made from old Essex and Foundry figures. The mounted trooper is from Bicorne miniatures.
This Foundry trooper makes for a great horse holder now his sword is cut away.
A lovely selection of Bloody miniatures.
The smaller figures are raised up on MDF to bring them to the same height as the newer sculpts.
A little sketch of a confused trooper.

Giant Reaper Bones Troll.
I saw this big brute a few weeks ago and thought he would fit into my Fomorian army. His scaly skin makes him look quite aquatic and I can imagine him clawing his way out of the North sea.
I was hoping he would be quite large, so was pleasently surprised to find he was gigantic. A real sea monster if ever I saw one. He dwarfs the other two sea monsters ( both water trolls) in the Fomorian ranks.
I used super glue and some fine grit to help hide the joins in the model. It did come with the option of throwing a pig, but this rock fits better with my sea folk.
The packet was covered in dust so must have sat on a shelf for a very long time.
By painting the top of the rock dark, it should look like it's been pulled from the ground or sea shore.
This is what you need to break a siege and smash down the walls of a manor house. It dwarfs the tiny 28mm figure next to it.
A real monster from the mists of ancient Erin. Here we can see a Fomorian next to the beast. The black figure is a troll from Reaper Bones too. Anything goes really in ancient Erin, if it wasn't for the scales, this giant creature would be used for the Furbolg forces.

I will use greenstuff and add seaweed and starfish etc to the rock. I'm not a fan of the mohawk haircut on one of the heads either, so will tweak this with greenstuff too.
