ECW House WIP make over

Last week I started to improve the model I bought from Emperor Toads Emporium by adding finer details. I also added a leaning shack type affair ( not painted yet), This is so skirmishers can get in amongst the beams and planks to take cover.

Thank you for posting this topic. It has been a real eye opener for me. OF COURSE what one wants from ECW or any English pastoral scenery is loads of character or even caricature. But seeing it on the table is another matter, probably the most inspiring for me for some years.

I agree the price is fair to have most of the heavy lifting already done. Could I ask what you think the thatch is made from, I don't think it looks much like the freshly thatched roofs of the Thames Valley but it is brilliant as old rotting thatch. Towelling?

Anyway I can't wait to have a go myself. Thanks again.

I believe the thatch is towelling with plaster mixed into it. Hope this helps
