Celtic Cavalry

The head jobs done using the Warlord Games plastics worked a treat.

Quick question. Are the bases 50 x 50mm and if so where are you getting them? A good source will save trying to stick 2 x 25x50 together for my Burgundian knights!

Hi Steve, these are old GW Monster bases. I have a few left and tend to base all my Wab stuff on them.

Cheers, I had thought you'd been using the 40mm sq bases but the larger ones make more sense (shame I have already based my Burgundian pike...)

I'm very impressed with your dipping method and the amount of lead you "process" in such a high quality. I have started my own dipping venture, but have opted to paint it on instead, and I'm pleased with the outcome. Been meaning say as well, your illustrations are amazing and just cry out to be used for something. You are very talented.

Great work. I like your shield work and also the woad painting that you've continued onto some of the horses.

Thanks guys, I too tend to paint on the dip now and treat it more as a glaze than a dip. I go back to each figure in turn and just make sure there are no pools collecting in detailed areas. I also wipe it off a little to show detailed painting work underneth if needed.

I like to paint the ponies with a little war paint becuase it make sense to me that they would. If you had something that honoured and valauable I think you would like the Gods to watch over it. It just makes sense to me.

Looks like there could be one of those feared Gallic migrations coming on...
