This African Tribune proudly looks upon his new command, the III Leptis Auxiliary cohort, from the city of Leptis Magna in Lybia. Raised from the City guard, they have been given the 12ft thrusting spear of their Carthaginian ancestors.
Lets hope all the training by Tullus's Centurions pays off on the battle field, with Alanicus marching down towards Egypt and an army of Tullus's stationed near Carthage, I guess it won't be long before we find out.

Do you make your own spears or do you buy them? If you buy them where do you get them?
Hello Dewolfe, these long Lybian spears are from Wargames Foundry.I had to flatten the spear points myself, using two club hammers. If you look back far enough on the blog you'll find how.
They're listed as pikes really and these ones have been slightly shortened, the off-cuts make fantastic javelins for skirmishers, so hang on to them.
I have huge Successor armies waiting on the painting table and have stocked up on gardeners wire which is great. It's perfect for long contos or pikes and a fraction of the price. If you have large units to equip, then the garden wire is the way to go.
Successor army?! I'd love to see that!
I would love to see that drawing in higher resolution ... Will You post it again ?
