When are we going to get some Red coats?

I still have a few units of French to finish, but the reward for all those Frenchies will be the long awaited British forces.
I have kept them to look forward to and consider them the proverbial cherry on the Napoleonic cake. However, even more highly prized than the ranks of red coats; will be the small companies of green jacketed Riflemen, It's enough to make your mouth water...I need to get out more.

Celts...thousands of 'em

At the moment I have 4x16 javelin men, I plan to turn two of these units back into War band. The reason being is I want at least three units of slingers, so I'm trying to limit the amount of forward units on the field. Also I need to produce a lot more cavalry but with my new found love for dipping, this won't be a problem.

2nd Battalion Fannions

Legere Fannion.

2nd Battalion Fannions

Flags from the Flag Dude

I'm sure there are many of you out there that recognise the style of these flags straight away. A Little while ago after hitting many dead ends in search of French Battalion Fannions, I came across Flag Dude's web-site and sent him an e-mail. Well the results have finally arrived and I was very happy. I even got to say which Regiments I was making and have the Battalion flags tailored to fit. Excellent work. I couldn't help but order some more after the first batch, only this time went for some Dutch, Nassau and Belgium standards. Another reason I like this approach Is that it saved me many hours researching and fiddling about. Highly recommend a visit to the Flag dude.

French heavy cavalry.

French heavy cavalry don't come much heavier than this...the Cuirassier. Big men on big horses, the ultimate shock weapon.

Muddy balls

Into the valley of Death...

Finished Cannon balls painted black and dry brushed with a little muddy brown.

The Cannon ball run

I had actually been thinking of making a few Cannon balls out of Miliput to use on the bases but these tiny Ball barrings are a much better option and I'll never run out of them either. Hours of sculpting saved by a lucky find.

A weighted bag used for holding camera equipment split open today at work and to my surprise, thousands of tiny ball barings rolled out. When I picked a few up I thought they looked perfect for 28mm Cannon balls, so I borrowed some.

Roman exspansion leads to New Cabinet. Read all about It!

I'm feeling pretty bad at the moment after spending loads on a new Cabinet. My old one is getting so full the different eras are begining to fight for control, It's not good. Any how, there I was, walking along in Milton Keynes when I saw the most beautiful display case I had ever seen. Also, being crap at DIY, I was delighted to see it came ready asembled. Well It was my Birthday on the 9th and things just made sense, one thing lead to another and It arrives on Saturday. I won't regret It for it is a thing of true beauty...i just feel a little sick at the moment, that's all.

It has a light inside.
