It was weird painting on to gloss varnish but the dip did make for a nice smooth surface on which to paint. I had thought of Matt varnishing first so I could see the colours better, but in the end followed the advice of Saxon Dog and painted straight onto the dried shiny surface.

I highlighted with the same base colours again. It was a lot of fun doing this and was a nice mix of dipping and layering.
