This is a 4" model of Megatron from a later Transformers cartoon. His pose and size makes for a great heroic statue. These will be painted gold.
An Autobot hero monument has been blown to pieces by Decepticons. The head has gone and the arm is on the ground. I stuck pieces of plasticard onto the model to act as torn metal.
Sideswipe enters the fray. The nice thing about painting sports cars is the lovely glossy finish of the bodywork. This is Kleer floor varnish.
Another Autobot joins the fight, this is Green bug. This is a nice touch for me because I named my first car Green bug. She was a green Golf, so it's a nice to finally turn her into the Autobot I always knew she was.
The Autobots are hiding from the Decepticon search parties, so their appearance is a bit more dirty than their enemies. Living in hidden locations with limited resources, their gears and bodywork would be in poor repair.
Sideswipe was made by adding bits of plasticard to his legs. The rocket was created by cutting up a piece of sprue and filing it to a point.
Green bug has a shoulder mounted grenade launcher.
Sideswipe.
The Autobots are dwarfed by the Seeker. They were not built for war and this lead to many Decepticon victories at the start of the conflict.
One thing I always loved about the cartoon was the different scale within characters. It always seemed to be so uneven, but it made for some great animated moments in the cartoon.
Five Autobots, these look great together. However, this group is made up of different types so won't be in the same combat unit.
Three 'racers' run for cover. Once anther two racers join their team, they will make a unit of Light Infantry in Xenos Rampant.
UPDATE:
Cybertronian statues starting to take shape.
