I will have to paint a AT-TE in these 501st colours.
Its time to call in the commandos, the Advanced Recon Commandos. This platoon of specialists are trained and equipped to deal with most things the CIS can throw at them.

The DK books really come into their own when it comes to detail for painting.
I finally got to use a fluorescent paint I've had sitting around for twenty years for the optics in the macro binoculars.
For these ARC's, just to diffuechuat them for the normal troopers, I based them on a 40mm base. It's a little thing that means you can just see who's who on the board at a glance.
As the ARC troopers wore highly personified armour, it's a good time to have some fun and paint a variety of patterns.

The reference for these figures is very good, here a trooper carries a rocket launcher first created for the Battle Front games on the X Box etc. In fact the console games have had a huge influence on all of the range, including the droids.
My little Republic symbol on the pack backs, rough and ready, but at this scale it should work okay.
