The Energon Raid

The brave raid started badly for the Autobot forces, they were spotted and a Decepticon patrol took to the air. An Autobot Recon squad tried to call in air support, but the Deception 'Scamble' blocked the airwaves. The call didn't get through.

This delay in manoeuvre cost valuable time and the unit soon came under heavy missile fire. These armour piercing, high explosive rounds caused terrible damage. The squad was literally blown to pieces and fell back in disorder.

Meanwhile in the Avenue of horoes, Ultra Magnus stepped out to confront three Decepticon units. One of which was the powerful detachment leader, Shockwave. 

Ultra Magnus held his own, single handedly driving off a flight of Seekers. A second unit of smaller Decepticon bots tried to level him with laser fire, but to no avail. These too were soon put to heel with a couple of well aimed shoulder rockets.

Back on the left flank the Recon squad tried again to call up a heavy barrage. Yet again, 'Scramble' jammed their transmission. Starscream and his Seekers soon turned the area into scrap metal with more armour piercing missiles. The Autobots were being anilalated. Another unit of Racer class bots are blown to pieces and left the field in disarray.

Ultra Magnus sends the Seekers packing. On fire and flying for their lives, the few survivors don't stop and flee the area. This leaves Shockwave alone to finish the job and stop Magnus.

Shockwave transforms into his laser cannon mode and blasts Magnus with a powerful blast. Magnus is wounded but is far from out. He trades his missiles for photon charges and holds his ground.

 After taking volley after volley of high explosive round bys, the Recon team finally get their call through. Autobot heavy rounds turn the Decepticon position to Moulton slag. Starscream, flees as a couple of his Seekers vapourise in the turmoil.

Shockwave always the crude strategist, orders the hulking Groundpounder to attack. The mighty Decepticon bomber plane stomps forward and grapples with Magnus. Groundpounder is wickedly armed with terrible claws and blades. The match is an even one and both warriors take damage. Groundpounder is forced back only to attack again and again. Against all odds Magnus out wits the giant brute and sends him running.

Shockwave is poised for the perfect shot with his high powered cannon, only to have his line of sight blocked by the retreating bohemoth.

Ultra Magnus puts a well aimed shot into the back of Groundpounder and he finally crashes to the ground. Clear at last and fighting through the smoke, Shockwave fires and wounds Magnus a second time.

All seems lost as the great Autobot warrior stumbles and drops to a knee. Then to the disbelief of everyone, Magnus rises. " It can't be... that's impossible" splutters the Decepticon, his single yellow optic glowing even brighter. Magnus, still difiant uses the smoke as cover to slip away.

The elite commando unit called the Reckers, use Magnus' commotion as cover to retrieve valuable Energon cubes. Not many are taken but everyone helps and is priceless to the Autobot cause.

Shockwave is left bewildered and spinning from the Autobot attack. Although many Autobots have met their demise, there are many deactivated Decepticon warriors too. Starscream and his Seekers are no where to be seen and the patrol on the left of the position, has also vanished without a trace. 

Shockwave stops in his tracks after he evaluates the burning wreckage of the Space bridge...Megatron will not be pleased!
