The green stuff did indeed prove to be a great starting colour to highlight. Saved a lot of tricky painting.
To stop them looking like feathers I dotted on some yellow paint for flowers. This worked very well I thought and made them definitely foliage.
The Williamite field signs I kept quite plain with no fancy dressings. After all these were oak leaves and general foliage rather than flowers.
I made my flowers a little larger than the illustration just so they stand out on the board.
Some yellow flowers should work well on the base, it will look like the soldiers have snatched them up as they wait around for the battle to start.
The unit really does come together with the new head gear.
