I quite like the way the gates look a little shoddy and rough. They appear more like stable doors to me, but they look tough and thats the main thing.

Great work! In that top picture, the gate almost looks real! Although the brass hinges started-off by looking very obvious, the balsa and paint hid them well.

Yes, now i have finished and had a few days away from it, I think I will go back and just hide those hinges a little better with tiny slithers of balsa.
