One Hour Skirmish Rules.

One of the great things about these gamings days is you get to play different sets of rules. For this battle set in the fictional setting of a Very British Civil War, we used a rule system I had heard a lot about, but never tried.

The one hour skirmish rules use playing cards instead of dice to get a game of more variables. It was fun and very fresh to play, turning the cards gives another element to the game to keep you engaged and active. A simple set for fast play but very enjoyable. I ordered a copy when I got home from eBay for £9. The game also allows you to play any era, including sci-fi skirmishs. It could be what I've been looking at to play my Colonial Marines Vs Desert raiders.

Anyway, back to this great looking set up. I was given a patrol of Socialists to defend the village from an advancing force of BUF.

The black shirts of the BUF advance.
A BUF armoured vehicle gets hit but ploughs on. Playing with these earlier tanks and armoured cars was refreshing and great fun.
I took up position within the farmyard, with the timely arrival of some armour helping to hold back the facist assault.

Very fun game and I liked the playing card mechanism. I wouldn't say I know the rules well at the moment, I just followed other players prompts, but I enjoyed the game for sure.
